Opening Meet goes to Cheshire

The 2026 Track and Field season began with a tri-meet against Suffield Academy and Cheshire Academy. With somewhat smaller numbers this year, the emphasis for the year is individual progress and success, backed by enthusiastic whole team support. With that message in mind, the team started the year off well with strong opening season marks. The team was led by Benji Hanson ’27 and Micheal Wang 27’ who both took first place in their individual events, the 400m and 3000m respectively; Daniel Olaosebikan ’26 took home second in the 200m while Justin Fu ’26 took third in the long jump. The team also opened up well in the 4x100m relay, with the team of Justin Fu, Benji Hanson, Daniel, and Luca Romano ’27 setting a strong season opener mark of 46.87. Although the end points didn’t go our way, the boys all worked extremely hard and set some impressive marks to open our season that they can build and improve on as the season progresses.
