Martlets Fall on the Road

The Martlets traveled to Greenwich to face Sacred Heart on a beautiful afternoon. While the opening quarter saw a frenetic pace that allowed Sacred Heart to secure an early 4-0 lead through transition play, the Martlets remained strong. Cameron Perillo ‘27 and Tay Tay Leonard ‘26 anchored the defensive effort with standout performances, while Delia Lockwood ‘26 was excellent at the draw, consistently earning possessions for the team.
Offensively, Kate Epke ‘27 showcased her skills with a quick drive to the cage and a textbook inside-roll finish. Epke also facilitated a goal for Ava Aponte ‘28, finding her on a hard-charging cut to the net. Though Sacred Heart ultimately pulled away for a 17-2 victory, the Martlets kept working hard until the final whistle. The team now looks ahead to hosting Pomfret this Saturday at 2pm.
