Martlets Finish 12th at New Englands
The Westminster Swim team had a fantastic end to the season, finishing strong at New England championships this past Saturday. We had ten great swimmers join us for the meet and despite our small size we were able to accomplish some terrific results. The Boys’ 200 Medley Relay of John Dwyer ‘26, Will Larock ‘26, Jesse Yang ‘27, and Ben Yu ‘28 achieved a 5th place finish to start the meet strong. The 100 Backstroke was a highlight event for our boys with John Dwyer being crowned New England Champion once again! Congratulations to John! Ben Yu also had a strong finish in the 100 Back, scoring 4th place. Jesse Yang had a standout meet with a top 8 finish in the 50 Freestyle, scoring his best time all season. This boys crew wrapped it up strong and successfully with a 7th place finish in the 400 Freestyle. On the girls’ side, Jennifer Weber ‘26 accomplished a season best time in the 100 Butterfly (time of 1:06.32). Jasmine Fu ‘27 also had a standout meet, achieving a terrific last split of 26 seconds in the 50 Freestyle for a relay. Sunshine Li ‘26 also had a great finals swim in the 100 Freestyle alongside Fu for two top 16 finishes. Congratulations to all swimmers on a successful season! And shout out again to John Dwyer for his New England victory! A great day for the Martlets!
