Martlets Fall to DA

Despite the 2–7 loss on the scoreboard, the Westminster JV girls hockey team showed immense grit and flashes of brilliance against a formidable Deerfield offense. Deerfield set a blistering pace early on, jumping out to a 4–0 lead with four unanswered goals. However, the Martlets refused to back down. Macey Sheehan ('27) broke the scoring drought with a stunning strike into the upper corner—a goal that was a "carbon copy" of her highlight-reel shot at Berkshire just last week. Westminster’s momentum carried into the second period when Aila Van Dolah ('28) netted an equally impressive shot, cutting into the deficit. While Deerfield’s deep offensive rotation proved difficult to contain, the Martlets tightened their defensive play in the final two frames. Lily Pokorny ('29) was a standout between the pipes, delivering another great performance with several high-pressure saves. It was a hard-fought battle that highlighted the team's persistence and individual skill.
