Martlets Fall to WNS

2/25/26
Boys JV Basketball
Greg Williams
Westminster 38 Williston 47

The Martlets made the familiar trip up I-91 on Wednesday to face the Wildcats of Williston, and the hosts wasted little time asserting themselves. An early 8–0 run put Westminster on its heels, though the Black and Gold gradually worked their way back into the contest with steadier possessions and improved defensive focus. Inside, Liam Murray ’26 took on the challenge of a physically imposing Williston lineup, anchoring the paint and battling for position against a group that looked more suited for the gridiron. Calvin Bixby ’28 provided a scoring spark with 12 points in a flurry, adding three assists in an active all-around effort. Hudson O’Hanlon ’28 made his debut in Black and Gold and marked the occasion with a three-pointer, a welcome contribution in a tough road environment. Ultimately, the rebounding margin tilted too heavily in Williston’s favor, granting the Wildcats too many second chances and proving decisive on their home floor.
