Martlets Fall to Choate

Another competitive day on court with plenty of long rallies and momentum swings!

Kim ’28 ran into a tough matchup but stayed composed throughout, continuing to work points and compete hard from start to finish. Breslav ’26 had one of the most dramatic matches of the day, opening with a marathon 12–14 game, bouncing back with a strong 11–8 win, and pushing a tight fourth game to 10–12. So many clutch points and great composure under pressure.

Ni ’29 played an absolute battle that went five games. After dropping the first, she answered with a 12–10 win, then grabbed another 11–7 to force a decider. That kind of resilience and stamina is always exciting to see. Khuu ’28 also went the distance, earning two strong early wins (11–9, 11–7) and closing with a clutch 12–10 — a match full of grit and big points at the right moments.

Mertz ’29 faced a challenging opponent but continued to stay steady and positive, building experience with every rally. Mohammady ’27 showed growth across the match, tightening up each game and finishing with a competitive 9–11 set. Lee ’29 battled through three games and kept working to find rhythm against a strong opponent.

Han ’29 stayed competitive in both games, putting together consistent rallies and showing steady improvement. In her second match, Lee ’29 competed hard in a two game match (6-11, 4-11), staying engaged and fighting hard.

White ’28 was sharp and in control, earning a clean straight-game victory with strong court awareness. Newberg ’27 matched that energy with two composed wins, including a tight 11–9 finish that showed great focus at the end of games.

Overall, the day was full of five-game thrillers, comeback pushes, and some really composed finishes. The effort and sportsmanship were strong across the board, a lot of heart on display and great momentum building as the season continues.
