Martlets Shutout Bears on Senior Day

The Martlets hosted the Bears from Berkshire on Saturday afternoon for a 5:00 pm puck drop, an evening that began with a special pregame ceremony honoring Westminster’s 16 seniors.
Westminster set the tone early, striking first on a power-play opportunity. Tyler Beaudoin ’28 fired a beauty of a shot short side, high, to beat the Berkshire netminder and give the Martlets a 1–0 lead. From there, the Martlets built their game with strong structure and pace, carrying the one-goal advantage into the first intermission.
The second period featured classic end-to-end prep hockey, with both teams generating quality chances. Goaltenders on each side rose to the occasion, but Ryan Galaski ’26 was particularly sharp for the Martlets, turning aside every shot he faced to preserve the 1–0 lead through two periods.
Westminster added an insurance goal in the third when Erich Brueckmann ’26 finished a play off a strong faceoff win by Massimo Guarnieri ’26, extending the lead to 2–0 with seven minutes remaining. The Martlets then showed discipline and resolve, successfully killing off two 5-on-3 situations down the stretch to secure the victory.
Galaski finished the night with a 34-save shutout as the Martlets capped off Senior Day with a hard-earned win over the Bears.
