Martlets Drop Game to Lions

After a quick turnaround from Monday’s game, the Martlets took the court against Kent and got off to a sluggish start. A few early turnovers allowed the Lions to jump out to a lead, but after regrouping during a quick timeout, Westminster started to show more poise in handling their opponent’s pressure. The Martlets also elevated their defensive intensity and limited Kent to rely on their outside shooting. The home team benefited from a quick boost from Melody El-Amin ‘27 who scored within seconds of stepping onto the court. Throughout the rest of the game, Gianna Monaco ‘27, Parker Perillo ‘26 and Kaitlyn Buda ‘27 helped lead the offensive effort, and Sophie McKenna ‘27 chipped in with a three. Coslyn Bardy ‘28 also scored 4 second half points and continues to log valuable minutes with the varsity team. The Martlets will conclude their three game week with a home game against Suffield on Saturday.
