Martlets Come up Short vs Choate

The Martlets came up short in their first of three games this week, falling 15-31 to Choate at home. The score doesn’t reflect the grit and growth on the floor as the girls gave all they had right up until the final buzzer. Our defense set the tone early playing tight and agressive, forcing Choate to take tough, long shots. We held them to a mere 11 points in the first half, but struggled offensively ourselves. Momentum finally shifted in the fourth quarter when Coslyn Bardy hit two threes and 12 points total all in about 6 minutes. Piper Lundin delivered a highlight-worthy, full speed layup in the first half and Nathalie House added one from the foul line. Shout-out to Marie Johnson, who dominated on defense, forcing turnovers and grabbing rebounds while maintaining her composure under pressure. An overall huge improvement from the entire team as their box-outs, offensive and defensive rebounds and all-around energy on the court were the highest of the season. The team is in a really good place as we face more even match-ups against KO and Canterbury this weekend.
