Martlets Fall to DA

The JV Girls’ Basketball team, (also known as the Splash Sisters), opened their season at home with a tough loss to Deerfield Academy, 12–40. While the scoreboard wasn’t in their favor, the team delivered plenty to be proud of: sharp defensive effort, improved offensive movement, and the true Martlet spirit of positivity and sportsmanship.
Third Former Katherine Laporiore put the Martlets on the board with the first points of the season and set the tone with relentless defensive pressure. Fourth Former Coslyn Bardy knocked in two three-pointers, and Audrey Tan added another from long range. Seniors Esther Lee and Piper Lundin anchored the team with their energy, communication, and steady leadership on and off the court.
Despite the result, the team showed grit, growth, and promise for the season ahead.
