Martlets And IMS Play to Draw

Prior to this season, Westminster was 0-11 versus Indian Mountain School in their past 11 games. After this afternoon’s match that streak was broken with a 2-2 tie. The entire team played very well, and had many defensive stops and shots on goal. In the first half, Alisa Yoshino ‘28 was given a pass in front of the net by Ilana Mezheritskiy ‘27 for the team’s first goal. After 29 excruciatingly close minutes of back and forth soccer, their roles reversed with 30 seconds left! Ilana was given a targeted pass in front of the net for the game tying goal and the hard-earned tie. Though the team really wanted the win, they should be applauded for truly holding their own against a tough squad from IMS.
