Martlets Fall to Suffield

Westminster traveled to Suffield Academy for a hard-fought matchup but ultimately came up short, falling to the Tigers in a challenging contest. The Martlets found themselves down 1-0 early after Suffield capitalized on an early offensive corner, but Westminster responded with strong energy and back-and-forth play through much of the first half. The Martlets generated several promising offensive pushes and held their own in midfield battles, showing resilience and determination. However, once Suffield notched its second goal, the momentum began to shift. The home side gained confidence and started to dictate the pace of play, maintaining possession and applying steady pressure for the remainder of the game. Suffield was able to capitalize on their corner opportunities to increase their lead. Despite the scoreline, Westminster’s defense battled hard, with senior captain Hannah Maltby standing tall in goal and coming up with several timely saves to keep the Martlets within reach. The Martlets hit the road again on Wednesday in a matchup against Taft.
