Martlets Fall to AOF

The short-handed boys’ cross-country team lost in a very fast dual meet against AOF on Saturday, with eight of its members unfortunately missing from the race. The race did have its highlights however, with 13 out of 18 of our runners setting personal or season best times this week. Nick Lopriore ('26) set the standard for the Martlets with a team best 19:24. He was followed by Michael Wang ('27), Charlie Zhang ('29), Will Larock ('26), and Aidan O'Callaghan ('26) in that order, who filled out the top five Martlets scoring in the meet. Ethan He ('28) had the most impressive race for Westy, running 1:06 faster than his previous fastest time.
This week’s Grit & Grace Award goes to Alessio Suarez ('28) who continues to show dedication to his craft by getting faster each week and truly motivating his teammates through his work ethic and effort.
