Another win!

The Martlets achieved an impressive 4–0 win against Hotchkiss, although that score was not easily achieved. The first half was filled with misconnected passes and midfield battles as the team adjusted to the larger field. They struggled to settle the ball and themselves. So, for 35 tense, frustrated minutes, the Martlet goal meter horn remained ominously silent, while a creative flare unlocked passed the Hotchkiss defense, creeping doubt into the players’ minds. The breakthrough came in the first third of the second half when Ava Aponte ’28 found the back of the net, finishing a well-placed assist from Margaux Walter ’27. That goal reignited the Martlets’ confidence and momentum. Just five minutes later, Margaux delivered another precise assist, this time to Piper Lundin, who converted beautifully to double the lead. The last two consecutive losses started to give way to great optimism.

The Martlets continued to press, and Eliza Reilly extended the advantage with a composed finish 18 minutes before the final whistle. The scoring concluded when Gloria Oh’28 capitalized on a perfectly executed corner kick from Lexie Willis’26, sealing the 4–0 win. A hard-fought victory was built on resilience, teamwork, and a second-half surge of confidence.

The Grit & Grace Award goes to Lucy Morton ’26, whose two crucial defensive interventions preserved the clean sheet. Her composure and timing were nothing short of masterful.
