Martlets Fall to Pomfret

This match between the Westminster Martlets and the Pomfret Griffins was a fiercely competitive and hard-fought battle played on the Martlets' home field. The final score was Pomfret 3, Westminster 2. Despite being short on substitutions and powering through the demanding 35-minute halves, the Martlets displayed exceptional grit and team effort until the final whistle. Their play was characterized by a tough, organized defense, great ball movement, and excellent positioning across the pitch. Ryan Holmes was a standout in the first half, demonstrating a superb overall performance on the field and netting a crucial goal for Westminster. The Martlets' defensive line was anchored by the intense and stellar play of Brooks Bevier. At midfield, Colin Daly demonstrated his skill in controlling the tempo and distributing the ball, while up front, Winston Caracappa brought relentless intensity as a forward, constantly pressuring the Pomfret defense.

The second half continued with the same high level of intensity, highlighting the close nature of the contest. The Martlets continued to show incredible resolve, with Tyler Beaudoin breaking through for Westminster's second goal. Beaudoin put in a fantastic overall performance throughout the game, matching the high level of play from the entire squad. Every player on the Martlets contributed to a truly fantastic team effort. Their incredible fight and determination were ultimately not enough to secure the win. The Westminster Martlets kept battling hard the entire game, but in the end, they unfortunately lost a very close contest to the Pomfret Griffins.
