Martlets Fal to Rumsey

The Martlets traveled across the state today to play Rumsey Hall. The heavy grass field was a complicated surface, and a scrappy, turgid, congested contest ensued. Moving the ball around the field was a dilemma for both teams, and most of the game was played in paradoxical pockets of the field where the ball appeared to be trapped. Goallessness resulted. Nevertheless, Rumsey Hall managed to work their way into our circle in the final period and force the ball into the goal, resulting in a one-goal loss for Westminster. This contest is unlikely to live forever in anyone's album of sporting memories, but the girls played really hard, and they enjoyed themselves so much that they heartily celebrated their loss at the final whistle. What a day. Fantastic stuff from a great group of kind and well-bonded teammates.
