Martlets Shutout by Taft

Westminster boys traveled to Taft to face the defending Class A champions, and the hosts proved why they are considered favorites to repeat. Determined to bounce back from last weekend, Westminster entered the match focused and disciplined, and their preparation was clear from the opening whistle.
The Martlets frustrated Taft throughout much of the first half, staying compact and organized defensively while limiting the champions to just a single goal before halftime. The second half brought more of the same — strong effort, resilience, and stretches of composed play from Westminster as they continued to battle against one of the toughest opponents on the schedule.
While the final score tilted in Taft’s favor, the performance represented a step forward for Westminster. The boys should be proud of their effort, as the lessons learned today will serve them well heading into the weekend’s fixtures.
