Martlets fall at Suffield

The Martlets traveled to Suffield for this matchup. Early on, both teams showed strong ball movement, but Suffield soon gained control with sharp passing in tight spaces, establishing dominance on the field. Despite the challenge, Mason Moritz ‘28 stood out with his relentless runs and ability to win back possession, playing a crucial role in driving the ball forward and creating pressure on the opposition. As the first half progressed, a few slip-ups cost the Martlets, and Suffield was able to score three goals. Still, Hudson O’Hanlon ‘28 showed determination, pushing forward with composure and intensity, supported well by Steven Lau’s ‘28 effort.
In the second half, the Martlets found their footing and looked much stronger, matching Suffield’s dominance with quick pressing and faster ball movement. Will Jones ‘28 and Teddy Russell ‘26 worked tirelessly to support their teammates and create chances for a breakthrough goal, though the opportunity never came. The half remained tightly contested, but Suffield scored another goal. With a few players out, the Martlets continue to build their chemistry, showing grit and resilience as they push toward future victories.
This game’s Grit & Grace Award goes to Will Gallagher ‘27, whose remarkable performance in goal kept the team in the fight. As the sole goalkeeper, he delivered outstanding saves and maintained sharp focus under constant pressure.
