Martlets Fall to Hotchkiss

The team went into this very difficult game with the goal of playing our best, and we did just that. Although it was difficult playing a game where there is a big difference between the teams, we played well and was able to learn from both failures and successes. The highlight of the game was when Piper Chaisson ’27 scored a beautiful goal on a precise and skillful pass from Avery Boulanger ’25. As the temperature rises on the field, many players were willing to step up and play mid-field substitutes so their teammates could have a break. Eliza Lane ’28, Lizzie Filippetti ’28, Mason Turton ’27 and Pippa Jiranek ’26 played especially hard, consistently showing up to pick up the ground balls. Chase Hager ’26 also pushed herself running across the field, filling in defensive or offensive positions as needed.
Once again, Maddy Manafort ’28 played tremendously as our goalie.
