Martlets Defeat Bearcats

It was a sunny day and 75 degrees as the Martlets welcomed the Bearcats to Osborn Field for their second matchup of the year. Teddy Russell '26 got the start for the black and gold. He surrendered 2 first inning runs but would complete 4 innings on the mound, giving up those 2 runs while striking out 3. The Martlets tied the score in the 3rd and would take the lead in the bottom of the 6th. Easton Masse '25 started the inning with a single and Connor Lytle '25 went to sacrifice bunt Masse over. However, the bunt was thrown away and Masse scored and Lytle made it to third. Jake Pleau '26 drove in Lytle with a sac fly. After Alex Mihailovich '25 reached on an error, Max Williams '25 pinch ran for him, stole third and scored the 5th run on an error.

On the mound, Zac Jainchill '25 picked up the win, going 2 scoreless innings. Easton Masse '25 closed on the game on the mound with a scoreless 7th.
