Martlets Fall to T-P

Your Martlets hosted Trinity Pawling on Saturday for a pivotal Founders League match-up. Wesmtinster was looking to get into the win column and confidence was high entering the game. Roman Mayfield ’26, back in limited action from injury, started the scoring for the Martlets with a quick stick finish on the back door off a nice pass from Hunter Grace ’27, 1-0 Westminster. Luke Zappia ’26 was outstanding in net making key saves and even a highlight reel diving save to keep the momentum. The Martlet defense was strong and played outstanding to lock down TP. Your Martlets would go on to control the half going into halftime with a 4-3 advantage. The lead would be extended to 5-3 off a terrific man-up goal by Cooper Kraus ’25. Momentum would quickly swing into TPs favor off several costly turnovers and Westminster would find itself locked into battle.. TP gained much needed confidence off a few goals to tie the game 5-5 entering in Q4. Your Martlets battled hard down the stretch and had numerous scoring chances but the TP goalie made several good saves and we couldn’t finish our shots. TP would go on to score 3 in the final quarter to Westminster 0 – final 8-5 TP. Top offensive performers include Cooper Kraus ’25, 2 goals, Jake Andreski ’25, 1-1 on the day with 3 GBs, Zoumana Ouattara ’25 and Roman Mayfield each had 1 goal apiece. Top defensive performers include Cullen Horn ’25 with 3 caused turnovers and 5 GBs. Luke Zappia ’26 and Derrick Logan ’27 combined for 10 saves. AJ Kraus ’26 dominated at the face-off X winning 80% of the face-offs. Avon next on Wednesday.
