Martlets Fall to Loomis

Jeffrey Niu ‘26 put Westminster ahead in the tenth minute but the boys fell foul of two lapses in concentration to gift Loomis the win. Alex Wood ‘25 was commanding in goal, and dominated the air around him. Alex brings a calm certainty to the defenders in front of him, allowing them to be more confident in their challenges. Will McCarthy ‘25 has been eager to help the team wherever he can, and he put in an excellent shift in defense this afternoon. Will is always clean in his tackles and great about encouraging the team around him. He made a number of critical interceptions and was first to head the ball almost every time. Shaw Turton ‘25 is a true team player, and always looks for roles to fill in the midfield. Shaw revels in the physical contest of the game and is ever ready for the challenge. He regularly asks where he can improve and is an eager student of the game. The team fought hard this afternoon but lacked the consistency to bring home the win. Canterbury on Saturday is our next game.
