A Deep Team

The Martlets split the top four matches against Pomfret, winning at No. 1 (Charlie von Stade '21) and No. 3 (William Mell '21), but won the bottom five matches, four of them in straight games, an indication of the team's depth this year. That depth will be challenged soon in matches against traditionally strong teams from Deerfield, Hotchkiss, Taft and Choate, but coach Michael Cervas is happy right now with the team's strength at the bottom of the ladder.

Here are today's individual match results.

No. 2 Zach Eckerson '21 lost to Nick Ware (4), 8, (8), (7)
