First Founders League Championship Since 2005!

On a perfect day for golf (low 70s, sunny, light breeze), First Boys' Golf traveled to Farmington Woods Country Club for the Founders League Championship. The team really came together with steady, solid play to earn the victory with a score of 388. Justin Flaks' 20 finished in a tie for second place with an outstanding score of 75 (+3) to lead the way for the Martlets, followed closely by Bennett Ostern '21 (76), Ned Blanchard '20 (78), Carson Roth '19 (79) and Peyton Knauf '19 (80). Newt Cutler '22 also shook off a bad start to finish with a respectable score of 85. The overall team results were as follows:

1. Westminster (388)
2. AOF (391)
3. Taft (393)
4. Kent (394)
5. Loomis (406)
6. Kingswood-Oxford (418)
7. Choate (427)
8. Hotchkiss (432)
9. Trinity-Pawling (507)

The victory was Westminster's first Founders League Golf Championship since 2005 and leaves the team in a strong position for the upcoming Kingswood Invitational Tournament next Wednesday. Hopefully, the boys can use this as motivation to finish the season on a high note.
