Energy and Focus

The Feb. 15 tilt against across town rival Avon didn't disappoint for those in attendance at Jackson Rink. Both teams went after this game from the opening whistle, and the Martlets came out with energy and focus. With a little more puck luck in support of an impressive team-wide effort and grit factor, the Black and Gold might have taken down the Winged Beavers. In the end, Avon beat Westminster 3-2 and withstood a swarm of six players in the final minutes trying to will one more in the back of Avon's net. All three forward lines played well, supported by solid play from the defensive unit too. Jack Murdock '19 converted on a pass from Willie Noble '20, and SK Lee '18 scored on a hard, low wrist shot. With two games remaining in the 2017 campaign, the Martlets look to improve their power play for the final games.
