Martlets Escape With A Win

Westminster stole one from Choate this weekend as they escaped the barnburner thanks to third period heroics of Casey Bitterli ‘11, Miguel Osio ‘09 and Harry Wise ‘11.  Down 3-1 with 8 minutes remaining in the final frame, the birds took to flight with Casey Bitterli netting his second of three goals in the game.  Two shifts later Bitterli closed out the tri-fecta to knot the score at 3.  Westminster was determined to end this one in regulation, as the line of Bitterli-Osio-Wise had one more left on their sticks, banging home the game winner with 1.5 seconds left on the clock.  Top players of the game were Greg Lafaire ’11, and net-minders John Bashaw ‘10 and Alex Alario ‘12.  Westminster improves to 4-2 on the season and will go for its fourth straight win as they take on Avon this Wednesday.
