First Girls' Hockey Blanks Gunnery

After a very difficult seven day period in which the Martlets lost three games in a row, today against Gunnery, they got back on track. Westminster played a very solid game, shutting out Gunnery 3-0. Kristen Maxwell '10 played her first game and registered the shutout. She made a few very good saves but did not get as much action as the Gunnery goalie. In the first, Emily Walsh ‘09 finished a two on one with a goal on a beautiful pass from Sara Uglade ‘10. Marianne Specker ‘08 did a wonderful job of skating the puck and playing solid defense. In the second, the Martlets had numerous opportunities, but could only score once thanks again to the duo of Walsh and Ugalde. In the third, Westminster tightened up their defense as Bethany Dymarczyk ‘08 played another great game on defense. Then on a penalty kill Tori Pizzuto '10 stepped into the passing lane in center ice and went the length of the ice for our last goal. It was a good win, with Hotchkiss this weekend.
