Martlets Lose to Taft

The Second Boys endured another disappointing overtime loss 3-2. Despite playing a very sloppy first period, The Martlets scored the only goal of the period with a rebound score from Jason Gilmartin '07, assisted by Charlie McGwire '08 and Joel Shriver '06. Westminster went ahead 2-0 late in the second period after Steve Smith '06 dug the puck out and fed a great pass to Joel Shriver '06 who blasted it by the Taft net minder.

Taft answered a minute later making the score 2-1 after two frames. The third period remained scoreless until just under a minute left when Taft took advantage of a 6 on 4 opportunity (pulled goalie and power-play) tying the game 2-2 on a tip-in goal. Early in the overtime Taft capitalized on an odd man rush to win 3-2. Chris Dahamke '07 played well in goal for the Black and Gold and deserved a better fate.
