Martlets Fall to Porter's

The first home match happened today in  55° and windy weather. Miss Porter’s was short-handed so some of their players doubled up for the doubles matches. At the end of the day the last match was #3 doubles where Candice Hong ‘28 and Karen Li ‘28 fought their way back to earn a tie-breaker and then took a big lead in the tie-breaker only to fall just short. Lulu Dawson ‘27 and Edie Goodyear ‘28 earned their first W of the season at #2 doubles. While Hannah Coccaro’27 and Harriet Leventhal’26 competed at #1. In singles co-captain Avery Gray ‘26 had a shutout to start the team off. The third and final win of the day came from Clara Covill ‘26 who found herself down 1-4 before winning 7 games in a row. Her calm and steady turnaround under pressure earns her the Grit and Grace Award for the match.
