Martlets Fall to Suffield

To close out the week, the Martlets hosted Suffield and were caught on their heels against a talented and fast-paced Tiger team. Westminster struggled to connect on passes and several early turnovers led to fast break scores from their opponent. On the defensive end, the Martlets were slow in their rotations, allowing Suffield to find open shot opportunities and collect offensive rebounds. Despite an early deficit, Gianna Monaco ‘27 continued to prove her willingness to compete – diving on the floor for loose balls and trying to create scoring opportunities for herself and her teammates. Parker Perillo ‘26 also helped elevate our defensive intensity, and Melody El-Amin ‘27 battled throughout the game on both ends. Unfortunately, the Martlets struggled to find any rhythm in the second half, the turnovers continued to mount and points were hard to find, leading to a lop-sided final score. The Martlets agreed they did not bring their best to today’s game, but they will look to rebound when they face off against Deerfield next week.
