Martlets Win at Kent

The Martlets made the drive West across the state to play Kent for the second time this season. Playing down 2 people, a few Martlets played up a position or two from their normal ladder positions. Having played Kent already earlier in the season with several repeat matchups, many Martlets knew what to expect in their matchup. At #7, Lily Abdel-Meguid ‘26 made some good adjustments to remain competitive in games 2 and 3 but fell in 3 games. She was kind enough to offer to play again so Kent’s #8 would get a match, and she fell in a competitive 11-6;11-8 decision. Lucy Morton ‘26 got the Martlets on the board with a 5,4,4 victory at #2 in a very similar scoreline to last time. Saleha Rahimi ‘27 won her match at #4 6,3,6, continuing her strong run of form of late with textbook squash. Clara Covill ‘26 had some amazing points at #6, using her athleticism and movement around the court to win her match 4,6,6 at #6. Clover Cooper ‘26 played the same opponent as last time at #1 and very impressively won with the EXACT same scoreline as last time(2,3,4) to seal the team victory. Wynne Prichett ‘28 won her match in 3 games (5,1,5) at #3 with good deep shots and quick moving around the court. Finally, Luna Yang ‘26 dropped her first game 6-11 before regrouping and winning her final 3 game only dropping 13 points in the final 3 games. The Martlets enjoyed a stop at the Canton Shoppes on the way back to Simsbury and will be ready to hit the courts at Miss Porters for our penultimate match on Saturday.
