Martlets Fall to Tabor and CRH

Today the Martlets hosted a strong Tabor team, with particular excellence at the top of their ladder. Although no Martlet was able to take a game, Crosby Cutler ‘27 lost his first game in a tie-breaker, earning The Nail for the match for the most inspiring performance. Cutler was being moved around to all four corners, but was also returning the ball deftly to the front of the court. He volleyed strategically and just hit the top of the tin a bit too often to be able to close out the first game.

After playing Tabor, the Martlets took a break from Kohn and hydrated with orange slices and gatorade. They returned to watch a high level match between the Choate and Tabor #1s, an inspiring and entertaining match. After Tabor emerged with the thinnest of victories, Choate took the courts to play the Westy boys. As earlier in the afternoon, none of the boys took a game, but earned about twice as many points as they had against Tabor. There was real inspiration and execution. Will Jones ‘28 earned the Nail with his solid play and near victory in game one. His court coverage was strong and he used all four corners to attack whenever possible.
