Martlets Sweep Suffield

The Martlets returned to Kohn Squash Pavillion for the first time in February, finishing a Friday off with a dominant 7-0 win against Suffield. Although playing without #1 Clover Cooper ‘26, the Martlets stepped up to the plate and came out strong. The Martlets started strong with the first 4 Martlets winning in 3 games. Wynne Prichett ‘28 played a tight first game before dominating the final two games at #2. Lilly McMillen ‘27 had a good match winning 5,3,4 at #4. Clara Covill ‘26 crushed her opponent at #6, with a dominant win only dropping 10 points on the day! Fatima Al Abood ‘28 won her match at #7 in 3 games, and was kind enough to play against Suffield’s #8 in an exhibition match! She also won that exhibition match at #8. Luna Yang ‘26 played a fairly tight first two games with 11-6 results before finishing the match with an efficient 11-3 third game at #5. Lucy Morton ‘26 (playing at #1 for the first time this season) fought back from an early deficit in her first game before closing that game out 11-7.  She used this momentum into the next two games which she won 11-1 and 11-8. Finally, Saleha Rahimi ‘27 dropped the only game of the day in her first game at #3, but rebounded with fundamental and clean squash to only drop 9 more points in the remainder of the match to seal the team sweep. The Martlets look forward to helping out with Horizons tomorrow before running to the courts on Wednesday at Kent.
