Martlets Shoutout by Pelicans

The Martlets traveled to Windsor, CT on Monday afternoon for a matchup with the Pelicans. The opening period was tightly contested, with Westminster limiting chances and keeping the game within reach. Liesel Kocourek ‘27 made some big saves in net and the Martlet’s defensive zone structure limited the Pelican’s chances. About midway through the first, Loomis broke through to take a 1-0 lead. The second period proved decisive, as Loomis capitalized on its opportunities, scoring four times to extend the lead to 5-0. Westminster continued to battle in the third period, showing resilience and defensive effort, but was unable to generate the offense needed to close the gap. The score remained unchanged through the final frame. Despite the result, Westminster showed stretches of strong play and will look to build on the positives as the team prepares for its next matchup against Pomfret on Wednesday.

Our Grit & Grace player of the game is Junior Liesel Kocourek! Liesel not only made some big saves in net, but her continued positivity is a beacon for this Martlet group.
