Martlets Fall to Choate

The Martlets began a week with three matches with a tough match against Choate. The Wild Boars were strong from top to bottom in a competitive match for the Martlets. Despite the lopsided overall score, the Martlets competed very hard and played good squash across the board. Playing a combined match with Varsity saw Anna Min ‘27 and Caroline Callen ‘26 playing #1 and #2 respectively. Anna took an 11-5 game 3 win as momentum into the fourth game, but dropped that one in a competitive affair in her 3-1 loss. Caroline played a very strong opponent who won a fairly quick match in 3 games. Down the ladder, #3,5 and 7 all saw competitive matches go the way of the Wild Boars. Clover Cooper ‘26 played many great points in a competitive, but 3-0 loss 7,8,4. Saleha Rahimi ‘27 had a similar experience, with many competitive points and close games despite the 3-0 loss. Luna Yang ‘26 saw herself take the first two games that were very competitive before her opponent took the final 3, all very close. Luna played great squash and was only a couple points away from the victory. Lucy Morton ‘26 dropped the first two games very quickly, but dug in to take the next two with some gritty shots and great putaways. Although her opponent took the 5th game 11-7, Lucy should be commended for her effort. Lilly McMillen ‘27 played some competitive squash but dropped her match in 3 very tight games, 2 of which went to extra points. The final round of matches saw Clara Covill ‘26, Fatima Al Abood ‘28 and Lily Abdel-Meguid ‘26 play their matches. Fatima and Lily played tough opponents and dropped their matches in 3 games. Clara went down 0-2 in her match, but recovered to take two very close games in extra points before dominating the 5th game 11-2 to score the lone point for the Martlets. The Martlets will prepare to play both Westover and Berkshire on Saturday at home!
