Martlets Fall to Choate

1/28/26

Girls Varsity Squash
Westminster  0  Choate  7

The girls were up against it again today as they hosted the deep and talented Wild Boars from Choate. The visitors won all of the matches, but the Martlets produced some highlights. In the exhibition match, Anna Min ‘27 narrowly missed taking her second game, then broke through to take the third, before falling in four games. Emily Fonner ‘26 came tantalizingly close to taking a game, but had to swallow consecutive scores of 14-12 to close out her match at #6. And Sophia Lazor ‘26 played brilliantly to win the third game in her 3-1 loss. Her ability to defend tenaciously when necessary and shift into attack mode when she had an opening made for very entertaining squash. Two long trips, to play St. Mark’s and then Hotchkiss, stand between the girls and a much anticipated long weekend break.
