Martlets Shutout Wyverns
The Martlets faced Kingswood Oxford (KO) on Wilbraham Field. In the first quarter, we created several scoring opportunities while limiting KO’s chances to push into our half. The Martlets stayed hungry for a goal, with Hudson O’Hanlon ‘28 showcasing his tactical skills to push the ball forward and Luke Champoux ‘28 maintaining strong possession, though unlucky not to net the opener. Momentum shifted when Steven Lau ‘28 entered the game late in the first half, dribbling past defenders and scoring a brilliant goal that lifted the team’s energy.
In the second half, KO applied stronger pressure and created more chances, but the Martlets held firm and continued to push. Justin Fu’s ‘27blistering speed was crucial in recovering possession, while Will Jones ‘28, Jeff Niu ‘26, and Rush Miller ‘28 made key contributions throughout. With the team’s energy running high, Calvin Bixby ‘28 added the second goal before Teddy Russell ‘26 struck twice to seal the win. It was a dominant performance, keeping the Martlets undefeated at home.
The Grit and Grace award goes to Will Jones ‘28 for his consistent play, relentless effort, and commitment to elevating the team’s performance.
