Martlets Dominate Canterbury

Melody El-Amin '27 homered, tripled, singled, and had four RBIs to lead the Martlets on a nice spring day at Canterbury. Caitlyn Eaton '28 pitched a strong game for Westy, allowing just six base hits and one earned run. At the plate, Kaitlyn Buda '27 and Abigail Graham '27 each had three hits and drove in three runs. Gabby de la Fe '26, Anna Hassett '27, Catherine Hogan '28, Mya Polastry '27 and Lily Shuster '27 had two hits apiece. The fielding by the Martlets was also impressive throughout the afternoon. Playing second base, Buda was involved in five putouts. In the third inning, de la Fe made a spectacular diving catch in center field to stifle a Saints rally. El-Amin had a strong day behind the plate for Westy. The Martlets will next play Kingswood Oxford at home on Monday.
