Martlets Fight Hard in Loss to AOF

The Martlets took the quick trip to Avon to face a strong AOF side, carrying a four-game unbeaten streak into the matchup. The opening 45 minutes proved to be our best stretch of soccer this season — organized, disciplined defending paired with confident, attacking play. Westminster not only held firm at the back but also outshot the hosts in the first half.
AOF came out after the break with renewed energy, pressing the Martlets deep into their own end. With 15 minutes remaining, they finally broke the deadlock — Dennis Q. ’26 made the initial save, but the rebound was finished. Dennis was outstanding all afternoon, keeping us in the game on several key occasions.
As Westminster pushed forward in search of an equalizer, AOF capitalized again late to make it 2–0. Refusing to quit, the Martlets clawed one back with four minutes left as Luka M. ’27 headed home his fifth goal of the season off a perfect delivery from Finn W. ’26 — his first career point in a Westminster shirt.
The boys now look ahead to hosting Loomis on Wednesday before wrapping up the week with Canterbury on Saturday, October 25th, as part of our Senior Day celebrations.
