Martlets Win Suffield Invitational

The Martlets made their second trip of the season to the Suffield Country Club, this time to compete in a ten-team tournament, their biggest competition to date. Windy conditions kept the entire field above par, but the boys handled it better than the rest of their competitors, shooting an impressive four-man score of +8, nine better than second Avon (+17), and earning additional wins against Founders League competitors Choate (+18) and Kingswood (+20), and host Suffield (+19), among others. Brody DiBeneditto ‘26 was a co-medalist with a 37 that featured an eagle (his third 37 in five matches), closely followed by captain Will McCarthy ‘25 (38), Reed Ghriskey ‘26 (38) and Jack Fichthorn ‘26 (39). The Martlets were the only team to post four scores under 40, demonstrating – as it has all season – that this team’s strength is its depth.
