Martlets Fly Over NMH, 95-67

The Westminster Boys proved too strong for their opponents on Saturday, beating the Loggers easily at Northfield.  The boys took the top spot in every event except the 100 Backstroke.  Individual event winners were Ryan McLaughlin ’08 in the 200 Free (best time – 1:53.37) and 500 Free,  Connor O’Brien ’10 in the 200 IM, Michael Fisher ’08 in the 50 Free and 100 Free, Pete Williams ’07 in the 100 Fly, and Colin McLaughlin ’10 in the 100 Breast.  The winning relay teams were Taylor Gould ’09, Colin McLaughlin, Williams, and Fisher in the 200 Medley Relay, O’Brien, Ryan McLaughlin, Williams, and Fisher in the 200 Free Relay, and O’Brien, Jamie Renwick ’08, Colin McLaughlin, and Ryan McLaughlin in the 400 Free Relay.  Other top individual performances were turned in by Taylor Gould, who swam his fastest time of the year in the 100 Backstroke (1:01.30) and Thames Sae Sue ‘07, who swam best times in the 50 Freestyle (28.23) and the 100 Freestyle (1:08.51).  Woojae Eum ’07 also put in a valiant effort in his first attempt at the 100 Free, finishing in 1:23.83.  Despite finishing just .2 seconds off his best time in the 50 Free, Michael Fisher swam a great race, beating out a talented sprinter from NMH in the final few yards by .04 seconds.
