Fall Term Achievements Recognized

The fall term awards ceremony held Nov. 30 in Werner Centennial Center began with Headmaster Bill Philip welcoming everyone back from the Thanksgiving break. Assistant Head of School Kathleen Devaney then gave highlights from the fall term including the opening of Armstrong Dining Hall. “Our campus is beautiful, and the buildings that frame it derive their meaning from the space and shelter they provide for us all to assemble, to gather formally and informally, to share company and to build the relationships which bind us together as a school,” she said. She cited achievements in community service, the visual and performing arts, as well as individual and group initiatives in many areas of school life. “And so it was, the fall term,” she concluded. “It began in the newness and excitement of Opening Days, new buildings and new people, and then we settled into the rhythm of the school year. And all that was new in September, through the waves and current of the term, has become familiar and has, indeed, made us even better.”
