A Game Well Played

In a thrilling and competitive match that lasted the full 75 minutes, Westminster outlasted the  Granby Bears by the final score of 12–7. This was a well played and competitive game. Westminster started strongly and scored the first four points  behind Alex Wood ‘25, Austin Black ‘24, Henry Warner ‘25 and Anthony DiBartolomeo ‘25. The game began with Wood finding  Black 3 times in a row. Warner then hit DiBartolomeo to the Martlets a 4-0 lead. Black would go on to have one of the great ultimate frisbee games ever at Westminster School. He would score 6 times on this beautiful spring day. After two scores by the Bears, Declan Cody ‘25 found Caroline Justicz ‘24. The Bears would score another goal before Cody found Black and Wood found Quinn Pine ‘25 to give Westminster a 7–4 lead at the break. To begin the second half, Pine found Black, Werner hit Pine, and Derek Rhodes ‘25 found a streaking Cody in the end zone to give Westminster a 10–4 lead. Granby then scored three times, but would never get any closer. Wood found captain AJ Jimenez ‘25 and Warner found Black to win the game and finish off the historic day for Austin Black.
