A Strong Opponent

The Martlets traveled with varsity to Watertown, CT to play against Taft. Up and down the ladder, the Rhinos from Taft were very strong and played a very clean match. The martlets all played well on the day. Some highlights were the doubles matches, where all three Martlet teams played good doubles and are starting to play well within their partnerships. Although playing together for the first time, the match of the day went to #1 doubles where Jack Pickett ‘26 and Robert Yalda ‘24 took on a tough team. Although they were down 2-6, they fought back and played many long deuce games before falling 5-8. Crosby Cutler ‘27 and Xavier Kahn ‘27, and Cole Hadden ‘26 and Connor Gray ‘26 also played competitive doubles matches. The Martlets enjoyed some donuts on the way home thanks to Mrs. Cutler which was a welcome start to 24 hours off because of the Hill Holiday. We will be back on the road on Saturday when we travel to Canterbury.
