Tale of Two Halves

Westminster welcomed the Cardigan Mountain Cougars to Williams Hill for a Monday afternoon home game. As expected, the Cardigan squad was a well-oiled lacrosse machine, skillfully controlling the ball in the offensive zone and beating the Martlets in the ground ball battle from the get-go. Westminster competed hard–as has been true all year with this year’s team–keeping the score close in the first half with Cayden Darnowski ‘25 adding two of his three goals in the first half and Ty Lambert ‘26 scoring in the second quarter. The Cougars took full control of the game in the second half, shutting down the Martlet offense and controlling the ball to both drain the clock and create scoring opportunities. Westminster never backed down and competed hard and with great sportsmanship until the final whistle, making their coaches and the home crowd proud of their efforts.
