Martlets Knock Off NMH

Westminster had a big day at the plate, with 14 hits and 12 runs scored in a home win against NMH. Marleigh Monroe '24 had two doubles and three RBIs for the Martlets. Olivia Gordon '24, Mia Magriz '25, Paige Herlihy '25, and Melody El-Amin '27 contributed two hits apiece. Anna Hassett '27 highlighted a huge first inning by driving in three runs with a double to right field. Gabby de la Fe '26, Emily Ginter '24, El-Amin and Gordon also had RBIs during an eight run outburst. In the fifth inning Emily Fonner '26 drove in two Westminster runs, which closed out the game. Hassett pitched very well, allowing just three NMH hits.  Defensively, the Martlets provided some excitement by executing multiple double plays. Gordon and Herlihy were once again strong in the field, and El-Amin caught a fine game. Westy Softball will next travel to play Worcester Academy on Saturday.
