A Solid Game

The Martlets played a very solid game against a strong Kingswood team. Although the final score was 5-3, Westminster battled throughout and scored three runs in the last two innings. In the bottom of the seventh, Westy hitters had quality at bats against an excellent pitcher and loaded the bases before the final out. Marleigh Monroe ‘24 showed grit and determination by striking out 14 Kingswood batters during the afternoon. Melody El-Amin '27 had three hits for Westminster, and Monroe had an RBI during the seventh inning threat. Paige Herlihy '25 made some fine plays at shortstop for the Black and Gold. Westminster will next play Northfield Mount Hermon at home on Wednesday.
