Martlets Defeat Gunn

The Martlets were back on the road Saturday to Frederick Gunn (FG). This would be the third game in 4 days. Final score 15-12 Westminster. With no shortage of adversity after coming off a long road trip the previous night, and some bus trouble on Saturday, the Martlets quickly found themselves in a tight battle against a physical and talented FG team. Both teams traded goals through the first half and the Martlets went into halftime tied at 7. The Martlets made some adjustments at halftime both on offense and defensive which proved to be a difference maker. In Q3, the Martlets scored 5 and were able to stop Gunn’s midfielders for only 2 goals. The Martlets continued to carry the play in Q4 on offense and played strong defense to secure the win. A gritty, tough win for the Martlets. The coaches were proud of the boys for how hard they played and for their ability to make in game adjustments. Top performers include AJ Kraus ’26, 67% FO win %, Owen O’Farrell ’24, 4-3, Reid Bulger ’24, 3-1, Miles Kim ’24, 4 goals and Jackson Alpaugh ’24, 2-3 led the offense. Drew Knight ’24 scooped 6 GBs and Jackson Raymond ’24 made 12 saves on the defensive end. Hotchkiss next.
