Martlets and Lions Tie

The JV Girls Hockey season ended with a crescendo! Kent arrived at Jackson Rink ready to play and the Martlets were hustling just to keep things close for the first two periods. With Abigail Graham's ('27) two goals in the first and second periods, the Black and Gold squad, inspired by the push to come up big for seniors Cassie Goundrey ('24) and Mia Lee ('24), skated hard throughout the third period. But, it took the sixth skater after pulling goalie Tilly Lynch ('25) to put the pressure on the Lions from Kent. Lucy Wainwright ('25) came off the bench and, after intense activity in the Kent crease, found an opening to tie the game with just seconds left! The moral victory of coming back against a fast-skating, skilled Kent squad was tremendous. Sometimes a tie can, indeed, feel like a victory.
