Martlets Fall to Gunn

In one of the wildest games this coach has ever been a part of, the Martlets fell to the Highlanders from FGS 8-6. Despite a seesaw battle that had the Martlets either up by 1, 2, or tied for the majority of the game. It was the Highlanders who rattled off three goals in 3 minutes midway through the third to claim the 8-6 lead. The Martlets pushed hard in the final minutes of the game but could not cut the deficit. There were a lot of aspects of our game that were clicking from the get-go. Our zone time was outstanding to start the game, outshooting our opponent 18 to 4 in the first 18 minutes of play. Shots on the day ended up at 48 to 31 in favor of the Black and Gold. Goal scorers were Jake Pleau '26, Quinn Pine '25, Blake Burke '25, Eric Elbery '24, Nico Tsatas '24, and Tommy Coccaro '26. The Martlets head into the final weekend with two games left to play. They will head north to face Deerfield on Friday night.
